Alpha lipoic acid is classified among the fat soluble vitamins with the peculiarity to function both in fats and in the liquid (water). Lipoic acid has two main functions: acts as a coenzyme in cellular metabolism and protects the body from oxidative stress. Due to these its antioxidant lipoic acid may be useful for muscle protection from oxidative damage, resulting exercise. Lipoic acid would therefore be useful in the sports field to the antioxidant action so far described, and for that metabolic-energy acting on the improvement of performance and strength, thanks to its ability to stabilize blood sugar levels and simultaneously increase the availability of sugars used by the muscle for energy production. These features make the lipoic acid useful during diets being able to optimize the consumption of carbohydrates. ALA-FX also contains Vitamin E and Coenzyme Q10, along with two powerful antioxidants which can further prevent the formation of free radicals and promote muscle development.
