Propolis is a substance made by bees using resin and balsam collected from trees, which is then processed with honey and wax and enriched with enzymes and trace elements. Bees use it to protect the hive from animals, insects and micro-organisms as well as to sterilize the cells of the honeycomb.

Propolis prohibits malodours and the development of microbes. It contains resin, balsam, wax, essential oils, pollen, flavonoids, phenolic-aromatic elements and trace elements.

The health value of Propolis has been known since ancient times. In recent years, however, scientific research has clearly shown its remarkable properties as an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungus and analgesic, thanks to which it has found numerous applications in contemporary hygiene, therapy and cosmetics. It is also used as supplement for respiratory infections, pharyngitis, arthritis, burns, disorders of the circulatory system and internal organs, mycosis, viruses, gynaecological problems, infections of the mouth cavity, diseases and inflammation of the eyes.
